Prenatal Lactation Consult, 1.5-2hrs – $40 (will be applied as a credit towards your initial postpartum consult)
Prenatal lactation consults are designed to provide you with everything you need to be confident and empowered when initiating breastfeeding after delivery. We recommend a prenatal consult for ALL families planning to breastfeed or provide their newborn with breastmilk. There are many common challenges when first beginning to breastfeed. This consult will help you be knowledgeable and prepared for the challenges that may arise in the first several days after delivery. It will also enable you to establish a connection with your lactation consultant in advance so you know who to contact should you need assistance.
Reasons a prenatal lactation consultation is recommended may include…
- This is your first baby
- Previous challenges with breastfeeding or milk supply
- Twins or multiples
- Flat or inverted nipples
- Diabetes before or during pregnancy (gestational diabetes)
- History or infertility or PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Desire to be educated, confident, and empowered
Initial Postpartum Lactation Consult, 1-2hrs $180 – In Office (rate includes initial visit)
Initial postpartum consults are your first visit with your lactation consultant after delivery. We will review your health history, your labor, delivery, and postpartum experience. An oral evaluation will be completed to ensure your baby does not have any tongue restrictions affecting their latching technique. A thorough breastfeeding and/or pumping assessment will be performed to provide you with the best plan of care for you and your situation. Our goals are your goals, whatever those goals may be, without judgement!

- Difficulty latching
- Painful latch with sore nipples
- Is not gaining weight appropriately

Follow Up Postpartum Lactation Consult, 1-2hrs $90
Home visits available for initial consults in the first two weeks postpartum. Travel fee of $40 added to cost of consult.
